the aerial beach series
This series explores the multifaceted symbolism of the beach as a place of both pleasure and evanescence. The empty beach, depicted from an aerial viewpoint, is free of any human footprints, as if all traces of our presence have been washed away by the waves, symbolizing the fleeting nature of life and the temporary nature of human actions.
At the same time, the beach is often associated with leisure and pleasure, as well as a sense of escape and ease from the stresses of daily life. This duality is captured in the bright umbrellas and towels scattered across the sand, suggesting both joy and relaxation, as well as a reminder of the temporary nature of these pleasures.
However, the beach is also a place of healing and spiritual connection for many people. When depicted as such, there is a marked difference between characters who live at the beach and those who merely holiday there. Those who call the beach home often have a deeper connection to its healing properties, whereas those who visit only temporarily may not fully experience its transformative power.
Through the use of vibrant colors and a lighthearted, whimsical style, I aim to convey the many layers of meaning and symbolism associated with the beach. I hope that this series will inspire viewers to consider the evanescent nature of life and the ways in which we seek out pleasure and escape, as well as the healing and spiritual qualities of the natural world.
