the aerial beach series
In this series, I explore the complex symbolism of the beach, a place that evokes both pleasure and evanescence. The aerial viewpoint in my paintings depicts an empty beach, free of human footprints, symbolizing the fleeting nature of life and the impermanence of our actions.
Despite this impermanence, the beach is often associated with leisure and relaxation, offering a temporary escape from the stresses of daily life. This dichotomy is captured in the bright colors of the umbrellas and towels scattered across the sand, conveying both joy and a reminder of the temporary nature of these pleasures.
Furthermore, the beach is also a place of healing and spiritual connection for many. Characters who live at the beach often have a deeper connection to its transformative power than those who merely visit. By depicting this spiritual aspect, I hope to encourage viewers to reflect on their own connections to the natural world.
Using vibrant colors and a playful style, my aim is to convey the multifaceted symbolism of the beach. I want my work to inspire viewers to consider the impermanence of life, the ways in which we seek pleasure and escape, and the healing qualities of nature.
